Product Description
IT’S BACK! D.T. Brown EXCLUSIVE Rhubarb Plants
Regular customers will know that we’ve been at the fore-font of Rhubarb breeding in recent years. We were the first to introduce Livingstone, the first autumn cropping variety, and later we launched our very own Poulton’s Pride which crops for up to 10 months of the year!
We were devastated when a few years back this variety was almost lost! However, for the past two years we have been working extremely hard behind the scenes with a new first-class nursery, and with the skill and dedication of our expert team of growers and breeders, are very excited to announce once again the availability of our exclusive Poulton’s Pride plants.
Poulton’s Pride is simply the best rhubarb we have ever tasted (and we’ve tasted quite a few!) - we are still amazed at how deliciously sweet the rosy red flushed stems are - a totally unique flavour! Not only does Poulton’s Pride taste fantastic, but it will keep on cropping and cropping because it doesn’t go dormant in the summer like most Rhubarb varieties. This dormancy has been bred out so you can enjoy harvesting from as early as February (if forced) and continue through to November - that’s for 10 months of the year!
Supplied as strong, 9cm potted plants from early June. 3 plants are enough to give you a good crop over such a long period.
