Salad Plants

Salad plants grow best in full sun with well drained reasonably fertile soil. Salad leaves will thrive in soil where well-rotted compost or manure (such as Orgro) has been dug in. Keep plants well-watered especially in dry periods and harvest leaves when they are at desired size. For successful cut and come again crops harvest leaves individually- taking little but often will keep the plants cropping for longer. Leaves are best when picked and used fresh however leaves will store in the fridge for several days.
