Growing Marrow Seed
Marrow seeds are grown in a similar manner to courgette seeds and pumpkin seeds as they are, in fact, all related. They are best sown between late May and early June and should be sown under garden cloches. However, they can be started indoors in particularly cold areas in April and then hardened off in early June.
Once developing, your marrow plants’ soil should be kept moist, taking care to water around your plants and not over them. You should also feed your marrow around once every fortnight with a high potash liquid fertiliser when the first fruits begin to swell.
They are ready to harvest once they are around 25cm (10in) in size. If marrows are left to reach a large size, they can be stored for future use.
