Autumn Planting Onion, Shallot & Garlic Collection brings together three outstanding kitchen garden favourites selected for their flavour, reliability and performance when planted in autumn. Carefully chosen to provide a rewarding harvest the following summer, this collection is ideal for gardeners who enjoy growing quality ingredients from garden to plate.
The collection includes:
• Winteria Onion Sets – A robust overwintering variety developed from 'Radar', bred to thrive in UK growing conditions. Exceptionally hardy and reliable, it establishes quickly in autumn before producing uniform, globe-shaped onions with attractive golden skins, high yields and excellent storage potential.
• Shallot Jermor Bulbs – A renowned French longue type shallot from the southern Rhône Valley. Producing copper-skinned bulbs with crisp pink-tinged flesh, it is prized for its sweet, delicate flavour, making it equally popular in the kitchen and on the show bench. Stores exceptionally well after harvest.
• Garlic Provence Wight Bulbs (Softneck) – An easy-to-grow softneck variety capable of producing impressively large white bulbs filled with plump, juicy cloves. Selected from trusted specialist stock, it offers dependable performance, excellent culinary quality and strong storage characteristics.
Plant in a sunny, well-drained position during autumn and allow the crops to establish through the cooler months. As temperatures rise in spring, vigorous growth develops, leading to productive harvests packed with flavour and freshness. Harvest onions and shallots once foliage naturally dies back and cure thoroughly before storing. Garlic can be lifted once the leaves begin to yellow, then dried carefully to maximise keeping quality.
Supplied as 1 pack of each variety.
