Potato Maris Peer (Second Early Seed Potato)
Despatches Within 5-7 days
Product Description
Maris Peer seed potatoes are a traditional variety, popular with home gardeners and chefs alike. Exceptionally versatile and with a wonderful flavour, this beloved second early seed potato is known for its smooth, white-skinned, oval-shaped tubers.
Whether you're craving boiled potatoes, crispy chips, or mouth-watering wedges, the Maris Peer delivers. It also works well served cold in homemade potato salads. The creamy yellow-fleshed potatoes hold their colour and shape well, and won't disintegrate when cooked.
Cultivating Maris Peer seed potatoes is a rewarding experience for any gardener. Easy to grow and offering good disease resistance, they'll delight you with a bountiful crop of second early new potatoes. They're also ideal for use as a second cropping seed potato to be harvested in autumn or winter. The Maris Peer's small size is well-suited to container gardening, too.
To maximise your Maris Peer potato harvest, we recommend chitting prior to planting out. This process encourages seed potatoes to sprout, allowing them to establish more readily and leading to bigger crops. Simply place them in an old egg box, blunt end up, until the shoots are approximately 1 ½ to 2½ cm (½ to 1in) long.
