Product Description
This golden-skinned shallot is the perfect companion to Melkior. It gives a heavy crop of high quality, healthy bulbs whether planted in spring or autumn. The plants are not prone to bolting and the harvested bulbs store very well. Flavour and texture are both excellent.
Sweeter and milder than onions, shallots have twice the amount of vitamin C and are also rich in vitamins A, B and E. They are invaluable in sauces, dressings, and salads, and notice how often TV chefs use them. This variety is really special and give great results when planted in the spring. All of our bulbs are certified as disease and virus free.
We supply individual, mature bulbs which, when re-planted, grow on to form clusters of up to 7 shallots usually ready to harvest in July. A 500g pack contains between 15 and 30 bulbs depending upon variety.
