Garlic Provence Wight Bulbs (Softneck) are supplied as 2 bulbs and produce impressively large, high-quality garlic with excellent culinary appeal.
This outstanding softneck variety is known for its ability to form very large white bulbs in a good growing season, sometimes reaching sizes comparable to Elephant Garlic. Inside, the cloves are generously sized, fat and juicy, making them ideal for a wide range of kitchen uses where flavour and texture matter.
Carefully sourced each year in partnership with The Garlic Farm, these bulbs are selected for their quality and consistency, ensuring reliable performance from planting through to harvest. Easy to grow and suitable for a variety of spaces, including containers, they are a dependable choice for kitchen gardeners.
All bulbs are certified disease and virus free, giving confidence in both crop health and yield. For best results, always plant from trusted, specialist-grown stock rather than shop-bought garlic.
Garlic Types
Hardneck types have a distinctive flavour and produce coiled flower stalks known as ‘scapes’ or ‘racamboles’. These are best removed to increase bulb size and are excellent used in salads and stir-fries.
Softneck garlics are the most commonly grown. They do not produce a flower stalk and are well known for their excellent storage qualities, traditionally being plaited once harvested.
